Deutsche Telekom reaches 1 million RDK-B milestone with Cujo AI

By Patrick Donegan, Principal Analyst, HardenStance

26 May 2026

Per this Linked-In post from Deutsche Telekom’s Uli Bornhauser, 1 million RDK-powered home routers across Deutsche Telekom’s European affiliates is an important milestone. The home router security market space is one that HardenStance tracks closely and this is the largest deployment of open source home routers in households and SMEs by any telco anywhere in Europe.

It’s not mentioned here but CUJO AI is the sole supplier of device intelligence and cybersecurity software on DT’s RDK-B routers. From having spoken with DT earlier this year, it’s my understanding that the large majority of these deployments have the device intelligence and cybersecurity software bundled in. Orange is a long way behind in terms of commercializing the alternative prpl open source home router ecosystem, that is also favoured by AT&T and Verizon as well as some other European carriers. There are more than 230 million European households. 1 million down, more than 230 million to go then.
